We also celebrated D Girl's 1st birthday a little early this weekend with my Mom's side of the family. Of course my piggy just loved her yummy cake.
Mommy had some cake too. By "some" I mean I finished the rest of her little personal one and another piece too. It was just too good... yes even I screw up my diet. Day 60 of P90x is coming up. I'll have another results post up later this week. Eek!
Both of our kids ended up getting croup last week. We caught D Boy's immediately so he didn't have it bad at all. D Girl however sounded pretty awful and was miserable. Obviously by the pic of my darling little monster you can see that she is feeling better though.
The Bachelor Jake is an idiot. I'm actually glad that he picked Vienna. Tenley can do better than him anyway. I felt so bad for her. She sure did take it well though. She managed to thank him for giving her a chance through her tears. She's almost too nice. Miss Ali is the next Bachelorette. You betcha I'll be watching! I liked her from the beginning, but her Vienna bashing was a little turn off for me. I think she's pretty genuine though.
I've got to figure out what we are going to do for D Girl's birthday party. We had D Boy's party here at our house this year. It went fine, but I just hate hosting at my house. It's just so stressful for me. Doesn't matter if I double up on my anxiety drugs or not. I have such a hard time relaxing with all those people in our house. So I need some suggestions... I was just thinking about having it at a pizza place, but it can be pricy paying for everyone. Has anyone ever had a party somewhere and had everyone just pay for themselves? Is that rude? Help!
Want some more randomness? Head on over to Keely's for some more!

The pic is ADORBLE.. she is a doll baby. I HATE croup, for my kids the best way to ease their coughing woudl invariably be taking them in the cold air outside at ungodly hours.
Hmmm I don't know I am sure you could and just say look we can't afford a whole lot , you don't have to buy pizza but you could just come...
I'm so glad I didn't peek at the Bachelor spoiler. It was fun to be surprised, although based on the clips they showed last week I felt certain he was going to choose Vienna.
I can't believe Ali got Bachelorette! Have you heard how she managed to get the time off work? I'm sure there's a good story there!
ps. Your little lady looks so adorable smothered in cake.
First Birthday pics are so much fun.
That's exactly how I like to eat my cake too! Topless....
I think it all depends on the person, as far as asking them to go dutch.
OH I LOVE a first birthday party!! She looks SO happy. I went to BFF's daughter's 1st birthday at Christmas and my husband taught her how to rub her hands in her cake and then rub her hands in her hair. BFF was NOT happy. ;) As for the birthday party, having not been through this, I'm not sure what the "rules" are but I've seen it done both ways. I personally have never been to a kids' birthday party where they paid for me to eat (unless it was given at someone's house). But I TOTALLY understand about all those people at your house...I would feel the same way. Is there a rec center nearby? You could rent a room and just do cake? Or maybe someone else's house! ;)
Don't you just love the Wii, though? I was so mad at dh when he first bought it. LOL
Jake is an idiot. I think he deserves Vienna.
So adorable! And you crack me up... a Wii is a good purchase though right :)
And yes, Jake is a moron. Tenley is a million times better than him and he can take that skanky Vienna and run with it!!
Don't forget about all the Easter candy that is showing up in stores...lol, sorry
I'm so not into the Bachelor this season.
Enjoy your RTT.

I don't know why the bachelor's always pick the wrong ones. I love birthday cake, love it!!!
I'm debating on what to do for Bree's birthday too. I usually have it at my Mom's house, and buy BBQ for everyone. This year I was planning on having a low key party somewhere. Instead of feeding everyone food though, you could just provide finger foods. That can be fairly cheap. Cheaper than having to have a whole bunch of food, and stuff...and it's easy clean up :)
Ok, I'm not sure where you live so I don't know if my suggestion would even work. But, if you are somewhere in a warm climate, you should have it at a park. It's free! All kids love parks!
It must be a right of passage to have cake all over yourself on your first birthday. Congratulations.
My wife and I cannot put our fingers on why Tenley annoyed us. Yes she's sweet and all, but I think she has a bit too much air in her head or something.
Thanks for your randomness,
I love your RTT posts...that being said, all I can think about now is cake.
Just love 1st birthday cake pics! I also had a couple pieces of cake this past weekend! SOOOO GOOD!Back to healthy now though!
We also host our kids parties at our house. It is crazy and I never get to just sit and relax with the other people. If you come up with any good & cheap ideas let me know!
I really dislike croup... fills me with such anxiety!
As for the first birthday, a park, if you live in a nicer climate, or a neighborhood church might rent out a room for a couple hours... ours does. Depends on what you can afford. But if you just serve cake and light snacks, instead of a meal... add a game or two and you have a great, successful party!
Knock wood we haven't had to deal with croup, but I have heard the horror stories and am so sorry went through all of that...
the pic is priceless! i love looking back at my girls' first bday pics...
Talk about cutie! Happy birthday to her.
As for the bachelor...I've said all along that I just think he is socially inept somehow. Like something is misfiring in him. He's weird.
